Sider Hits SF- Fog City Ruby Meetup and GitHub Universe 2018 Report

Sider is determined to bring a better code review for better products to everyone, everywhere. Our first stop outside Japan is San Fransisco. In October 2018, Sider team from Japan traveled to San Fransisco to show our presence in the Bay area.

Fog City Ruby Meetup

On October 9th, Sider has sponsored Fog City Ruby Meetup as a host at DG717, the US branch office of Japanese company Digital Garage. More than 40 people attended to this talk whose key theme was “spooky” as the Halloween is around the corner. Each speaker of the night gave a spine-chilling story of development. We would like to thank Fog City Ruby Meetup for having us and send a big shout out for Jessie, Andy, Britta, and Christine for their scary talk.
You can find the summary of each talk here:

GitHub Universe 2018

On October 16th and 17th, Sider has sponsored GHU 2018. GitHub chose Palace of Fine Arts, the beautiful site originally built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exhibition, as the venue of this year’s GitHub Universe.

It was such a stunning view to see neon-colored-LED-lit booths between the sculptures inside this historic building.

On the keynote, GitHub announced their release of GitHub Actions as well as the new program Octoprenticeship. If you wish to catch the keynote, they are archived here.

Our booth’s theme was a kid’s room. Why? Because we believe refreshing your mind by being playful is great for your creativity. Sider is a code review product that reduces your hustles and time caused by code reviews. So, we offered a lot of gadgets and toys like a giant teddy bear, a rocking horse, Jenga, and a raffle (yes!) for the attendees to play around like a little kid.

It was a rewarding moment to see many of them having fun at our booth.

As for the attendees’ reaction to our product, they liked the fact you can use Goodcheck or Querly by the project.

Thought it has been quite a week for us, we were so happy to meet the developers from all over the world at GitHub Universe. Sider will continue to attend many more developer events and hope to see you again in the US or other countries!
